Subject: Registration of RAIFs with the CySEC RAIF Register
Purpose: To inform the External Managers of RAIFs that Circular C285 is repealed and replaced and that Directive DI124-01 has been amended.
In Summary:
CySEC has issued the Circular C484 on 26/01/2022 to inform the External Managers of Registered Alternative Investment Funds (“RAIFs”) that Circular C285 is repealed and replaced.
CySEC also informs that the Directive for the registration and deregistration of RAIFs in the RAIFs register (“DI124-01”) has been amended.
Furthermore, with this Circular C484, the CySEC draw the attention of External Managers of RAIFs, for the time that is needed for the examination of the information submitted in order to verify whether the authorisation of the External Manager covers the management of an AIF with the investment policy of the respective RAIF, and where it does, for the registration of a RAIF in the CySEC RAIFs Register and relevant information to the RAIF’s External Manager.
This Circular C484 also provides information for the documents that must be submitted to CySEC along with the application form 124-00-01 for a RAIF’s registration with the CySEC RAIF register, information for the conversion of an existing company into a RAIF, provisions that must be taken into consideration when producing the regulation or the constitutional documents of a RAIF and other useful information for the RAIFs and the External Managers of RAIFs.
