Subject: Council of Europe and European Commission, Directorate General for Structural Reform Support workshop ‘Leveraging OSINT for compliance with EU restrictive measures against Russia’
Purpose: To inform Regulated Entities for a workshop titled ‘Leveraging OSINT for compliance with EU restrictive measures against Russia’.
In Summary:
CySEC has issued the Circular C695 on 28/03/2025 to inform the CIFs, ASPs, UCITS Management Companies, Internally managed UCITS, AIFMs, Internally managed AIFs, Internally managed AIFLNPs, Companies with sole purpose the management of AIFLNPs, Crypto Asset Service Providers and the Small AIFMs under Law 81(I)/2020, that the Council of Europe and the European Commission, Directorate General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) organise the Workshop titled ‘Leveraging OSINT for compliance with EU restrictive measures against Russia’ (the ‘Workshop’).
The Workshop will take place on 02/04/2025, between 08:30 – 13:00 (Cyprus Time).
The Workshop enhances the capacity of National Competent Authorities and business operators to identify designated entities, improve access to information, and facilitate information exchange at both national and international levels. It also promotes the use of open-source intelligence (OSINT), aiming to strengthen the detection, investigation, and prevention of sanctions evasion, thereby ensuring better compliance with EU financial restrictive measures in the private sector.
